After 7,5 years of work, the professional artist and educator, Anatoly Konenko, managed to shoe a flea. But let’s not jump the gun. In 1981 this gentleman became, probably the first Siberian to start working with miniatures as a form of art. He developed the technology to make miniatures and figured out fundamentals of working with an apple seed, a poppy seed grain and a human hair. He created countless drawings, portraits and landscapes on ivory plates and amber, mastered the craft of micro-carving on mammoth tusks.

Also Konenko invented a unique micro-painting technique, creating an entire gallery of miniature paintings, mini-copies of works from world famouse masters (Salvador Dali, Henri Matisse, Sandro Botticelli, Rembrandt van Rijn, Leonardo da Vinci and etc.) hand-painted on a mammoth bone of 10 mm x 10 mm size, which can be closely examined with a magnifier. He developed a carving technique using nut, orange and other fruit pips.

A composition of a chessboard, a violin held by a grasshopper and a balalaika on the end of a neadle attracts special attention.

Displayed are marvelous showpieces such as caravan of camels in a needle eye, a portrait of A.P.Chechov painted on a halved poppy seed or the Lord’s Prayer written on a human hair, and even the smallest book in the world of 0,9 x 0,9 mm size which can be looked at with a microscope and which is included in the Guinness Book of Records.

So far, this unique exhibition has been visited by hundreds of thousand visitors of all ages, ranging from pre - school children to seniors, who expressed their enthusiasm and clear astonishment.
